Tak Province
Tak province was formerly named to "Muang Ra-Haeng" where there are Mon people living. There are historical evidence about Mon's Arts at the Ban-tak district. The town was built before Sukhothai era. Muang Tak had been important frontier town to Myanmar and was the greatest king's army congregated as Ramkumhaengmaharat, Naresuanmaharat, Naraimaharat and Taksinmaharat. Unitl early Ratanakhosin era in the reign of Rama II, he ordered to move downtown of Tak from right side of Ping river to Ra-Haeng sub-district on the left side of Ping river. It became location of Tak province until now.Tak province is in the Western of Thailand and covering area about 16,400 square kilometres. Its population is 520,000. There are many traveling natural places such as Lang-San National Park, Taksinmaharat National Park and Nam-tok Phajarearn National Park. Moreover, there are beautiful waterfalls in Aumphang wildlifes conservation area such as Thilolae and Thilosu waterfalls.
